Why should you help?

Parent volunteer involvement in IHM BINGO is a vital element in keeping Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish School vibrant and successful.  Each parent is asked to take part in this ministry of support. The IHM Bingo program enables the school to provide a quality, affordable Catholic education to all families in the community who seek it for their children.

A volunteer staff of IHM parents and fellow parishioners operates the bingo program. Volunteering for bingo entails just a few hours a month. Your involvement WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE in the lives of the students who attend IHM. To find out how you can help, contact Lori Jones at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Volunteer opportunities every Wednesday and Saturday.

General Volunteer Opportunities:

Ticket Sales:
Early Shift: 4:30-7:30 ~ Floor Shift: 5:30 - 8:30 ~ Late Shift: 7:00 to 10:00PM

Have a talent for sales? This may be the job for you. This role begins with setting up for and selling instant tickets – both at the instant table and on the floor during the bingo games. This is a highly social position! It's also a very big money-maker for IHM Bingo. Very little training is required, and there's lots of player contact.

Kitchen  4:30 - 9:00 PM
Volunteers in the kitchen prepare and serve food, mainly from 5:30-6:45 p.m. and 7:45-8:00 p.m., followed by kitchen cleanup. The only food preparation is cooking hot dogs and warming sloppy Joe's. In between, there is time to catch up socially (but quietly).

Join a volunteer "TEAM"

Joining a team helps keep bingo going and only asks you to commit about 12-15 times per year.

Cashier Team Shifts -  4:45 to 7:00 PM
Another position with lots of player interaction is the cashier, who sells bingo admission at the cash register. This position involves some handling of money. A minimal amount of training is needed, and there are always three volunteers staffing this role. Cashiers are one of the first volunteers to greet customers, so an outgoing friendly personality is a plus.

Caller Team Shifts - 6:00 to 9:30PM
Callers CALL -- they're the ones who actually call out the bingo numbers. They operate the bingo console, and some training is definitely required. There is one 15-minute break at intermission. This is an ideal position for someone with an outgoing personality and a good voice, and who enjoys being in front of an audience. Good callers are a critical part of a great Bingo program and an area with the biggest need for new volunteers.

Office/Banking Team Shifts- 5:30 to 10:00 PM
The Office/Banking volunteers count money, cash checks for players, and generally help balance the books for the games.  The job requires some training and an aptitude for numbers!

Instants Manager Team Shifts- 5:30 to 10:00 PM
Open up the doors, oversee ticket sales, oversee volunteers and address any questions or issues that arise during the evening.
