respect School want our students to acknowledge diversity and build community
by practicing respect, hospitality, and civility, towards others. We have dedicated ourselves to the safety
and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff. In cooperation with the Diocese of
Cleveland, Immaculate Heart of Mary’s parents, students, and staff recognize
that human dignity is the basis for all relationships and growth, and will
continue to support Immaculate Heart of Mary’s anti-bullying program efforts.
Respect is the cornerstone of all our interactions and behaviors. We should acknowledge the dignity and worth
of one another, and strive never to diminish another by our conduct or our
attitudes. We believe that everyone should enjoy school equally, and feel safe,
secure, and accepted regardless of color, race, gender, ability, religion,
and nationality. We understand that bullying can be pushing, shoving, hitting, and
spitting, as well as, name calling, picking on, making fun of, laughing at,
and/or excluding someone. We also
understand that bullying may cause emotional and physical pain and stress to
victims, and is never justified or excusable. We
agree to: 1.
Value differences and treat
others with respect. 2.

immediately any bullying that I know about or see to a teacher or other
trusted adult in the school. 3.

persons in a Christ-like manner. TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY IMMACULATE HEART OF We believe that technology is a vital
means to assist those who carry out the educational ministry of Immaculate
Heart of Mary School. We are pleased to offer students of
Immaculate Heart of Mary School access to our computer network for electronic
mail and the Internet. To gain access
to e-mail and the Internet, all students under the age of 18 must obtain parental
permission and must sign and return this form to the school office. Access to e-mail and the Internet will
enable students to explore thousands of libraries, databases, and bulletin
boards while exchanging messages with Internet users throughout the
world. Families should be warned that
some material accessible via the Internet might contain items that are
illegal, defamatory, inaccurate, or potentially offensive to some
people. While our intent is to make
Internet access available to further educational goals and objectives,
students may find ways to access other materials as well. We believe that the benefits to students
from access to the Internet, in the form of information resources and
opportunities for collaboration, exceed any disadvantages. Ultimately, parents and guardians of minors
are responsible for setting and conveying the standards that their children
should follow when using media and information sources. To that end, Immaculate Heart of Mary
School supports and respects each family’s right to decide whether or not to
apply for access. Immaculate
Heart of Students are responsible for good
behavior on school computer networks just as they are in a classroom or a
school hallway. Communications on the
network are often public in nature.
General school rules for behavior and communications apply. If the school administration approves,
students may have e-mail access, but only under their teacher’s direct
supervision using a classroom account.
The network is provided for students to conduct research and to
communicate to others. Access to the
network services is given to students who agree to act in a considerate and
responsible manner. Parental
permission is required. Access is a
privilege – not a right. Access
entails responsibility. Individual
users of Immaculate Heart of Mary’s computer network are responsible for
their actions. It is presumed that
users will comply with school standards and will honor the agreements they
have signed. Beyond the clarification
of such standards, the school is not responsible for restricting, monitoring,
or controlling the communications of individuals utilizing the network. Network storage areas may be treated
like school lockers. Network
administrators may review files and communications to maintain system
integrity and insure that users are using the system responsibly. Users should not expect that files stored
on any server or computer would be private.
During school, teachers of younger students will guide them toward
appropriate materials. Outside of
school, families bear the same responsibility for such guidance as they
exercise with information sources such as television, telephones, movies,
radio and other potentially offensive media. USERS HAVE NO PRIVACY RIGHT TO ANY The following
are examples of inappropriate use and activity: -

a loss of access as well as other applicable disciplinary or legal actions. USER AGREEMENT As a user of the
Immaculate Heart of Mary School computer network, I hereby agree to comply
with the rules stated in the Acceptable Use Policy. I agree to communicate over the network in
a reliable fashion while honoring all relevant laws and restrictions. As the parent or
legal guardian of the minor student(s) signing above, I grant permission for
my child(ren) to access

may be held liable for violations. I

standards for my child(ren)
to follow when selecting, sharing, or exploring information and media. Immaculate Heart of Mary School provides an excellent Catholic
education to prepare students for a successful, faith-filled life. In considering the role of the The first begins with helping the
students to develop a true self-concept, appreciating their own self-worth
and being proud of their Catholic heritage, and live the example of Jesus. Since Catholic doctrine is rooted in
the Gospel of Jesus, we strive to promote a spirit of peace, love, patience
and respect for self and others in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Community. The aim of our school, in partnership
with our parents, who are the primary educators, is to develop a right
conscience to guide the students so that they can become instruments of God’s
word and extend themselves into the immediate communities of home, school,
parish, and neighborhood. This is
accomplished by exploring many ways to carry out the Gospel message. Ultimately, this will enable the students
to be aware that they are worthwhile and contributing members of society and
responsible thinking citizens in this world. The
