Dale Sheldon Rokes was born in 1934 to
Mary and Dale Rokes. As a young boy Dale experienced many sides of life. This
is due to the fact that he moved from place-to-place. Although this may have given
Dale experience and his sense of adventure it had its downfalls. Picking up
and moving at the drop of a hat could be hard. At the very young age of
seventeen Dale Sheldon Rokes picked up his things once again and joined the
Marine Corps, but this time it was clearly Dale’s choice. As if this wasn’t
enough he also joined Bertha, more familiarly known as Betty, in Holy
Matrimony. The new Mr. And Mrs. Rokes moved to There he received the proper
training he would need to stand with courage when face to face with enemies.
That day would come all too soon for Dale’s young wife Betty. Dale Sheldon
Rokes went to fight in the Korean War as one of America’s finest, while Betty
held him closed to her heart and always remembered him in her prayers. The battlegrounds were fierce and the
whether was challenging as well. As the typhoons rolled in the troops rolled
out. In hard times Dale Sheldon Rokes pushed through with the help of his
loyal friends and the picture of his young wife’s face he stayed safe. After returning home this driven young
man decide to quit the Marine Corps and went to collage and then go to work
as a police man. Dale and Betty Rokes were given a wonderful blessing on In 1991 Dale and Bertha Rokes became
grandparents for the first time. Then for a second and a third time in 1993.
Their grandchildren are Meghan Rokes, Scoutt Jones, and Sarah Rokes. Life was
good for a while as grandma and grandpa, or papa Rokes, made and shared memories
with their grand children. Not long after the birth of his grand children’s
Dale Rokes was diagnosed with cancer. This was a hard time for both Dale and
his family, but with the help of friends and family Dale held on to the very
