The 7^th grade volleyball is the year that all the best players play their hardest and the competition is very tough. They want to win all their games that they play and go on to the championship and be declared the winner or the best. A lot of the girls on the team want to play volleyball next year. The team is a very competitive team and love to win. This year the team has been practicing very hard to try and get the whole team to serve overhand. Everyone on the team enjoys playing volleyball. This year the team had the best coach that they have ever had. She works the team very hard and if she knows that one of the teammates is struggling she tries her very best to try and help them. Some things that the team does at practice is bumping, serving, setting, spiking, hitting, and pepper (Which is a game that they have two people standing across from one another who bump and set the ball back and fourth, for as many times as possible with out letting the ball touch the ground.)

The 7^th grade girls volley ball team play against several teams. These teams include Saint Francis Xavier, Saint Hilary Sabers, Saint Barnabas Blazers, Holy Family Panthers, and Saint Mathews. The toughest competition in their bracket is Saint Barnabas, who the team has lost to both times they have played them. The first game they played Holy Family, which they won. They only had five people so they had to have a ghost player. A ghost player is when they have five people and when the fifth person is up to serve they have to turn the ball over to the other team because they don’t have a player to serve the ball. In the second game they played Saint Barnabas. They unfortunately lost; although they played a great game! Everyone had a great game and they really used their teamwork to stay in it. In the third game they played Saint Hilary, which they won. Right after that they played Saint Francis Xavier and won. In the fifth game we played St. Hilary. The team lost the last game. The team played a great game and stayed in the game till the last match. The sixth game they played Holy Family. They got beat in the last match, again. They won one out of the two. They ended their season with a 4-6 record.

On the volleyball team we have thirteen girls. Usually they have two set teams for each game. One team is Jen, Rachel, Kristen, Ryanne, Jaclyn, and Katie. The second team is Danielle, Kristin, Ashley, Courtney, Gabby, Lauren, and Angela. On the second team one of the girls had to sub-in since there are seven but now that a girl sprained her ankle. She has become our spirit person. Everyone on the team has a different talent that is used in a different part on the court. Some are better at serving, bumping, and setting.
