The seventh grade girl’s summer league team is coached by George Murray and Chuck Brunn. There are twelve girls on the team. They are Nicole, Katie, Kristen, Maria, Rachel, Jessacca, Jackie, Jenny, Tabby, Ryanne, Sheri, and Rachel.

They practice every Saturday for three hours. At the beginning of practice they shoot around until they stretch. After stretching they run, then do ball-handling and passing. For the first two hours they work on ball-handling, shooting, and passing. For the last hour they scrimmage five-on-five against each other. We work right and left handed lay-ups, reverse lay-ups, foul shots, jump shots, and other shots too. We do shooting drills, full court drill, ball-handling drills, and team drills.

We played in a summer league every Sunday from July to September. We played 8 games in total. Three of the eight games got rained out and rescheduled. We won four games and lost four games. We beat the Holy Family Panthers twice; we beat the Stow Raptors once; and we beat the CVCA Blue Royals. We lost to the CVCA Blue Royals twice; and to the Stow Raptors twice. We beat the CVCA Blue Royals in the semifinal game, 20-2, but we lost to the Stow Raptors in the championship game, 12-8.

George Murray and Chuck Brunn have been coaching the girls since 1^st and 2^nd grade instructional basketball. For the past two summers they have coached them in a summer league at Stow Silver Springs Parks and Rec. basketball. Last year we played out at Pinnacle Sports Center after we finished out at Stow Silver Springs. Last year and this year out at Stow Silver Springs our team came in runners-up in the championship game.

This year for CYO basketball the seventh grade will have only one team. There are ten girls playing on the team, nine 7^th graders and one 6^th grader. They are Jenny, Katie, Ryanne, Kristen, Jackie (sixth grade), Sheri, Rachel, Kristin, Jaclyn, and Sarah. They will be coached by George Murray and Chuck Brunn. We will practice Monday and Friday each week for an hour and a half. We might practice on Saturday and Sunday too. On Monday and Saturday they will practice with the eighth grade team. At practices we will be practicing ball handling, shooting, dribbling, offense, and defense. We will start practices on Monday, October 25, 2004 for CYO basketball. We will play at least twenty basketball games this season.
