This is a picture of the KB teachers Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Dain.

There are two kindergarten classes, KA and KB. In the KB class the teachers are Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Dain. The kindergarten class is on the first floor of the school building right across the hall from the first grade room and the other kindergarten. They have 19 girls and 10 boys in the kindergarten KB class.

The students are learning about their letters and how to put them together to make words. The kindergarten is learning all the subjects that we have at Immaculate Heart of Mary, some of them are math, religion, reading, science, music, art, Spanish, computer, and gym. They are also counting how many days of school we have by putting up the number, around the room, every day they come to school! They are excited about going into the 1^st grade, but they are sad that they have to leave Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Dain. They also have 6^th grade buddies who help them with lots of things like making projects, reading stories, and even give each other treats for special holidays or occasions like Halloween, Christmas, Easter, and even Good Friday. The 6^th grade buddies also do fun things with the kindergarten students like making projects or playing games.

The first picture is a picture of the kindergarten class doing a skit about Jesus coming to a little girl’s house because she was dying and he was going to heal her. In this skit the some students were acting it out while another student was reading it. This is a very good example of how the students love God and how much they have and are learning about him. The second picture is the book that they were doing a skit about called “A Child’s Bible” and underneath the book is their religion book that they are learning about all the great wonders of God.

This is a picture of the bulletin board of May Words. Since it is May, the month of Mary, they have a bulletin with some words that they picked to describe the month of May such as farm, animals, Mary, fieldtrip, flowers, and mother (for the mother Mary).

On May 19, 2005 both kindergarten classes went to Lake Farm Park in Kirtland, Ohio to learn about animals and how it is like to work and live on a farm.

Some of the up coming events that the kindergarten is doing are: June 1, 2005 they will be having field day with the other kindergarten class, June 3, 2005 in the morning they are having a program for the end of the year, and then later that day they will be at an afternoon pep rally supported by the cheerleaders that is also for the end of the year.

The kindergarten class has learned a lot this year and hopefully they will have fun going on into the first grade!
