Immaculate Heart of |
|
By: Zach |
In the spring of 2005,
the Immaculate Heart of Mary School will be performing Annie Jr. as a school
play. The official date of tryouts has not been determined yet but, it is
certain that they will be held after Christmas break. The music room is
tentatively scheduled as the location for play tryouts. Each student will
perform in front of a small audience which will be comprised of their music
class. Parts in the play will be available to all junior high students.
Mrs. Depew has been
holding practices for students who wish to be a character with a solo part. At
these practices, students have been reviewing the songs for their certain
character with the solo. Practice times are usually in the morning before
classes, or in the afternoon after all classes. Mrs. Depew will announce the time
and date of the practice during normal music classes.
There
are thirty-one characters in the play that will have speaking parts. Of these thirty-one
parts, twenty will be included in a song. In addition to the speaking parts,
there is a need for additional servants for the Warbucks mansion, orphans for
the orphanage, and people singing in the city during the “N.Y.C.” song. There will be sixteen parts available for the girls
and fourteen parts available for the boys. The “Star-To-Be” role is a special role that can be filled by either a
boy or girl.
