Immaculate Heart of Mary School is rated one of the highest academic
schools in the Tri-State area. Our teachers are highly trained and certified
and they push their students to be the best they can be and to excel in
academics. They help them in any way possible and prepare them for what they
will be learning in their high school years. Many of the students that went
through I.H.M. for grade school are great kids and wonderful students. Many
of them receive top-honors from their high schools and go on to college with
all the hopes that they will excel and succeed.
Jeff was one of our eighth graders last
year who chose to continue his academic career at Walsh Jesuit High School. He chose this brilliant and highly rated
school in hopes he will learn all he can in time for his college years. Going
to IHM prepared him for high school in some of the best ways possible. Many
of the things that he is learning now at Walsh, he learned his eighth grade
year at IHM. Jeff had to make an extremely difficult decision last spring; he
was to decide on which high school he would be attending in the fall. He of
course chose Walsh. Both of his sisters went to Walsh, and he has been around
the school for eight years now. He loves the environment, and he always knows
people around Walsh’s campus. Jeff had some trouble in certain classes at
IHM, but when he asked his teachers, he finally got it, and is now at the top
of these classes at Walsh.
Alison was our student council president
last year. She was a very bright student and a wonderful person to be around.
From IHM she went on to St. Vincent St. Mary High School. Although her brother had gone to a
different high school, her number one choice was St. Vincent St. Mary. She
knew that from all her countless lessons that she acquired at IHM, St. V-M
would be the number one place to continue her journey through school. She has
learned many things at IHM that she could have never learned at a normal
public school, and she is grateful for everything she has accomplished
because of IHM. She’s very active in many religious groups at St. V-M, and is
thankful for her IHM education, which got her thinking more about her faith.
Todd, a former IHM student, chose to
continue his education in one of the best schools money could buy, Archbishop Hoban High School. Before he was able to choose which high
school he wanted to attend, he had to visit the many Catholic high schools of
the area. His visit to Hoban was a very inspiring one. When he saw the many
possibilities that were available to him at Hoban, he did not want to go
anywhere else. Since his uncle is a Hoban Alumni, Hoban always had always
been his number one choice for a Catholic high school. Going to IHM has
helped him in many ways. At IHM he obtained a lot of information in many
different subjects such as, Biology, Religion and English. When he started at
Hoban, the curriculum that they were learning was much the same as he had
learned at IHM. Not many things are the alike between Hoban and IHM, but Todd
has been adjusting and beginning to get the hang of his new high school schedule.
Todd receives good grades in many of his subjects at Hoban. His teachers at
IHM have helped him to accomplish this achievement.
Not far down the road from IHM is a
vigorous school known as Cuyahoga Falls High School. It’s filled with all different types of
students and many opportunities for a great education. Gina, yet another
former IHM eighth grader chose to embark on a journey through Falls High. She
chose Cuyahoga
Falls High School in hopes that even though it is a public
school, she will be receiving the same education that she would be receiving
at a Catholic high school. She learned
many things at IHM and is hoping to learn just as many at Falls High. A lot
of the subjects are much easier because of her IHM education.
IHM
has been a great influence on these as well as many other students that have
graduated from the 8th grade. They have learned many lessons and
acquired many facts about different subjects in including, Math, Literature,
English, Religion, Science, and Social Studies. All of these opportunities
and more are available to all the Immaculate Heart of Mary Grade School students. Because of IHM, these children
have excelled and succeeded in everything they have done.
