Choral group is open to the eighth graders. It is a new club this year.
We meet on Mondays at the music room in the basement of the school from
The 8th grade Choral group has just finished with their first
performance, Grandparents Day. We sang two songs, one for Church and one for a
performance in the gym. The songs were “Thank You God” in The Rise Up and Sing and “Grandma’s
Feather Bed” by John Denver. Mrs. Falanga said that we did a great job and that she would do
something like this again. She also said that the hardest thing to do was to
get the kids quiet and singing with enthusiasm. Mrs. Jones said that the
grandparents seemed to enjoy the program. She would do something like this
again. She said that the hardest thing was all of the practices we had.
When
the choral group was in gym we sat along the wall until it was time to go on
stage and perform. It was fun to perform the skit for the grandparents because
it was a funny song and the grandparents looked like they loved it.
We had a cast party on Monday after school. The cast party was
really fun. We had cookies, Emedio and Sons Pizza, chips, and pop. We also
played games like chess, checkers, and poker. We also talked. We all had a good
time.
Some of the people in the group are Kyle, Adam, Matt, Alex, Evan,
Anthony, Julie, Holly,
Alex likes choral group
because she gets to learn new songs that are very interesting and she gets to
do an extra curricular activity for school. Anthony likes choral group because
all of his friends are in it and they can sing secular (non-Church) music. Kyle
likes choral group because he knows a lot of people there. Heather likes choral
group because she learns new songs and she can put this as an extra curricular
activity on a high school application.
I was a little nervous about being on stage but I thought it turned
out really well. It was defiantly was worth all of the practice. Julie said
that she thought that the ceremony went well. She also said that it was worth
all of the practice.
If you want join our group just ask Mrs. Falanga.
