Miss
Hannigan is a lonely old woman with only her orphanage, full of little girls
who she truly hates. She punishes the
girls cruelly and always tries to make them miserable. She is quite reluctant to let Annie go on her
life-changing journey to the Warbucks household, not wanting the best for her,
what she never had. In the midst of her
unhappiness, she is visited by her brother, an ex-convict con artist. Together they come up with a plan to finally
land them on the high road of life, one filled with abundant riches. To achieve this lofty goal, her brother and
his new ‘dumb blonde’ girlfriend must pose as Annie’s parents to get their hands
on the 50,000 dollars being offered by Oliver Warbucks. Miss Hannigan shovels out the information,
including the one thing that will guarantee the belief of their authenticity:
the locket. These despicable acts leave
her where she truly deserves to be, in jail, but not before Annie can show Miss
Hannigan the one thing she had taught her over the course of eleven years:
‘Never tell a lie.’
Miss
Hannigan’s song selection includes: Little Girls, Little Girls- Reprise, Easy
Street, and Easy Street- Reprise.
