Immaculate Heart of Mary Grade School

Mr. Hall

The third grade is a great class.  It is filled with great students and run by two glorious teachers.  The teachers are Mrs. Fisher and Mrs. Young.  Mrs. Fisher has been teaching for a total of 25 years.  Mrs. Young has been teaching for a total of 23 years.  In Mrs. Fisher’s class there are a total of 20 students and in Mrs. Young’s class there are a total of 22 students.  The classes of 2010 looks like a stupendous class.

The third grade is learning a lot of stellar information this year.  In Science, they are learning about animals and what kind of habitat each animal lives in. They will be informed on the subject of mass and matter and how they make up the world. They will be learning about cells and simple machines.  In English, they plan on learning predicates and nominatives and will be making a pop-up book.  In Social Studies, they will be learning about Washington D.C., communities, pioneers, pilgrims, Native Americans, and the economy of a city.  They will be learning how to use a dictionary and they will be reading two literature books in reading.  This mind boggling curriculum will prepare the class for what is to come.

Some of the students say the best part of 3rd grade has been the Grandparent’s Day performance.  Others disagree and say that the best part was the field trip to Hale Farm.  Almost everyone one of the students think that the teachers, Mrs. Young and Mrs. Fisher, are nice and cool.  Math has been one of the best subjects so far according to the students.  Science has been pretty good too.  Some students do not appreciate the things they are learning and some of them enjoy it a lot.

This year the 3rd grade went on a field trip to Hale Farm.  Hale Farm is an old-fashioned farm that re-enacts the life in the 1800’s.  The students that I talked to told me that they had a lot of fun on the field trip and want to go back.  In the spring, they are planning to see a play.

I talked to some of the students that have already been through the 3rd grade.  They told me that it was a great year and they enjoyed a lot of the activities they did.  Some think that the best part was the stars that they got when they finished their timed math test.  Some people believe that the best part was watching a movie every Friday in Mrs. Young’s class.

The third grade is a splendid class.  They have a lot of fun and learn a lot at the same time.  The teachers are having a great time teaching and the students are having a great time learning.  The students are great kids and the teachers are two of the best at I.H.M.
