The new technology in Immaculate Heart of Mary School is amazing. We have new laptops, computers, SMART Boards, and a Sympodium. Some of the new products in I.H.M. School are the latest in computer technology. New Dell computers have replaced the old Compaq computers in the computer lab. These old computers have been placed in each of the classrooms. We now have new laptops. The laptops are contained in a cart that is kept in the computer lab. These laptops are usually only for sixth, seventh, and eighth grade classes. We now have access to the Web in all of our regular classes. The newest technology found in our school is the SMART Board. SMART Boards have been placed in 8B, 7B, 6B, 5B, and 4B. These boards can be written on, typed on, and controlled by a finger. The Sympodium is located in 8A. The Sympodium is controlled by a pointer that writes on a control that looks like a large palm pilot. You can download pages from the Internet and write on them. These boards are chalkboards that do not need to be erased or cleaned. This technology will help better education given to the students at Immaculate Heart of Mary School.

Laptops
The laptops are a fine addition to all of the technology in the school. There are fifteen laptops. These laptops are in a mobile storage case that can be taken to any room on the second floor. The manufacturer is Compaq and the system model is an EvoN1015v. The speed of these laptops is 1,391 megahertz and the RAM memory is 256.00 megabytes. These will help students have access to a computer even if they are not in computer class.
Computers (in Computer Lab)
The new computers in the computer lab are very reliable. There are thirty computers. The computers now have a set of headphones. The manufacturer is Dell Computer Corporation and the system model of these computers is OptiPlex 170L. The speed is 2,793 megahertz and the RAM memory on the computers is 256.00 megabytes. These computers will aid the students at I.H.M. School in their studies.
Computers (in Classrooms)
If the computer lab or laptops are being used, the students can use the computers in the classrooms. The manufacturer of the computers is Compaq and they have a speed of 1,395 megahertz. The model of computer is EvoD300v. The RAM memory is 384.50 megabytes. These computers are perfect for the students to use when they are in a hurry.
SMART Boards
The SMART Boards are probably the most advanced piece of new technology in the school. These boards are connected to the teacher’s computer. The picture from the computer goes onto the SMART Board from a projector on the ceiling. The board itself, is touch-sensitive. At the bottom of each board there are four pens (black, red, blue, and green) and an eraser. The board has 1,024 resolution and the screen of the SMART Board is 1,024 pixels by 768 pixels. The board is one meter and nine centimeters by one meter and 44.5 centimeters. This board will revolutionize the way students learn in school.
Sympodium
The Sympodium is basically a SMART Board, but it is not touch sensitive. The Sympodium is in Mrs. Falanga’s room (8A). The projector generates the image onto a pull-down screen. On the control, you can choose several different colors (black, red, and blue) and an eraser. This is a new, fun way to teach the students.
