Archbishop Hoban High School is one of the most popular schools in Summit County, Ohio.  Archbishop Hoban High School is located in Akron, Ohio.  It was founded in the early 1950’s. Archbishop Edward F. Hoban called together the Brothers of Holy Cross to create the third Holy Cross High School in the Cleveland dioceses, at that time.  They envisioned and the acted upon these foresights and Archbishop Hoban High School was created.  At first Archbishop Hoban High School was all boys, but then they went coeducational in the mid 70s due to the fact that they could not afford, financially, to keep the school all boys.  That was the first step in Archbishop Hoban High School’s road to excellence.

At Archbishop Hoban High School they are known for so many interesting achievements some of which include the following.  They also retain many magnificent achievements.  Archbishop Hoban High School’s advanced math team finished first in there division and fourth in the nation, in the yearly Mathfax competitive exam among all Catholic High schools.  They also have received the Golden Flash Award (highest honors) for their school newspaper, “The Visor.”  The academics there are very significant to the students.  Over 97 percent of Archbishop Hoban High School’s graduates continue their studies at colleges and universities.  Another terrific attribute to the Archbishop Hoban High School every day life is their athletics.

Football.  That word is heard all too often around Archbishop Hoban High School.  Archbishop Hoban High School’s football team is extremely well known throughout the entire state of Ohio.  Archbishop Hoban High School’s varsity football record is currently nine and two.  Archbishop Hoban High School’s varsity football team has an outstanding running back, Tyrell Sutton.  He has just, currently succeeded in setting the All Ohioan running back record.  He ran the ball for roughly 8,425 yards just in his High School career!  He now can be included in the State of Ohio’s record book.  This was such a great achievement for Tyrell Sutton on his road for fame.  Football is not the only sport that Archbishop Hoban High School has to offer.  At Archbishop Hoban High School they have Basketball, Lacrosse, Baseball, Golf, Bowling, Soccer, Tennis, Track, Volleyball, Softball, and Wrestling.

Although athletics is important academics exceed the amount of importance at Archbishop Hoban High School. Hoban offers an exceptionally demanding curriculum.  And please, let me tell you that the entrance exams aren’t easy.  “Yes the course of study is difficult, but you can learn so much that some times it is over whelming,” said an Archbishop Hoban High School student.  It is known that a whopping 97 percent of Archbishop Hoban High School’s graduating students go on to a college of their choice.  As you can tell Archbishop Hoban High School is just an impressive school Personally it is my number one choice.
