This is a first grader and he is in Cub Scouts.

He really likes Cub Scouts and has a lot of fun.

Immaculate Heart of Mary School provides Cub Scouts to boys in grades Kindergarten through fifth grade or ages seven through ten years old.  It is a year round activity for boys.  Cub Scouts meet on Fridays once a month.  All Cub Scouts meet in the church basement across from Immaculate Heart of Mary School.  They meet together in the church basement for about an hour and a half.  Cub Scouts is for both the children and their family.  Parents and their children work together to achieve the reason of Cub Scouts.  There are over a million Cub Scouts in our country and over fifty thousand packs, or groups.  Each pack has a few adult leaders that provide fun activities and crafts for the kids to do.  There are a lot of entertaining and fun things to do in Cub Scouts.  Packs earn their money from doing money-earning projects.  There are about thirty kids in Cub Scouts.  They do numerous fun activities in Cub Scouts like singing and crafts.  Boys in Cub Scouts learn a lot of responsibility.  Cub Scouts learn a lot of other superior qualities including honesty, trustworthiness, and respect for others and our environment.  It also encourages good sportsmanship and pride. It also shows them how to always do their best, develop good habits, always have a good attitude and prepares them to later become a Boy Scout.  By learning all of these qualities, it strengthens their relationship with their families and other people.  When Cub Scouts complete activities correctly, they get badges to put on their uniform.  Most badges are pins or a ribbon.  The badges are worn on the upper left part of their uniform.  Cub Scouts go on field trips to many places including ski trips, the zoo, theme parks, and farms.  Sometimes they go camping together and have to sleep in a tent overnight.  Right now, the Cub Scouts, here at I.H.M., are selling popcorn to raise money to go on a ski trip.  They are going door to door trying to collect money for their ski trip.  Everybody in Cub Scouts are friends and they all support each other in what they are doing.  They always try to do their greatest and they always put others before themselves.  Leaders of the Cub Scouts encourage them to have fun, adventure and to graduate Cub Scouts and continue to come back in years to come.  The Cub Scouts colors are blue and gold.  They promise is to do their best, to do their duty to God and their country, and to obey the law of the pack.  The boys in Cub Scouts look forward to the next time they meet together because they have so much fun with each other doing fun activities and going on field trips.
