The history of Immaculate Heart
of Mary is both exciting and interesting. It all starts with the building of
the school and church. In 1953, the school and church were built
simultaneously. The making of the school and church were exhilarating. The
original drawings for the school and church don’t look alike to the present day
buildings. The church has a tower to the left side. Also it’s not in the cross
shape it is today. The school looks pretty much alike in the original drawing
and the school today. The most recent project was adding the addition to the
school. In 1992, the
The
past of I.H.M. will never be forgotten. It consist of a person who had an
effect on everyone. This great man was Father McIntyre. Also shown above are
pictures of the nuns, a fifth grade class working diligently on a project, a
first grade class at gym, and the class of 1962.
The
present priest and deacon are Father McCann, Father Jonathan, Father Pahler, and Deacon Seal. Religion is very important to this
school. It’s name, Immaculate Heart of Mary, is named
about the Blessed Mother, Mary. Outside the church is a statue of Mary holding
her baby, Jesus. The statue is very pleasant and has
received many complements.
The present and future are something
great to look forward too. The school has many programs to offer to the
children here. There is cheerleading, basketball, baseball, softball,
volleyball, soccer, football, cantering, altering, student council, girl
scouts, boy scouts, and many more. Many people how had the opportunity to
attend this school has been very successful in life. It has taught them and the
children here how to be respectful, responsible, caring, kind, love and more. I
feel so lucky to be here at this school along with my classmates. This school is
a great start to a bright future.
