Here at IHM we do a lot
of things for Christmas. It is a big time of the year for us, we are preparing
for the birth of Jesus.
We
celebrate Christmas on December 25. On this day we spend time with our family’s
opening gifts, going to church, and having a fun time. For Christmas at IHM, we
celebrate Christmas by counting down the days of advent at Church, decorating
the classrooms, and making Christmas fun for us kids.
At Christmas we get candy canes, and the
candy canes reminds us of a Shepard’s staff, and here at IHM all the teacher’s
give us a candy cane, it’s like one of the traditions here. Every class room
has a tradition, like the 8th grade, their tradition is that they
always decorate there class rooms. The 7th grade tradition is that
they have a little Christmas tree in Miss Ward’s room and they put all the
gifts that they give her under the tree.
This year there is a new thing that we are doing, every kid in the
school try’s to get a sticker for being polite. Ask with may
I, just being nice and respectful you can get a sticker, and when you get five
sticker’s you get an ornament on the tree. Not only do we do it during
Christmas we do it all year around.

The week when we all
come back from Christmas break, we are still celebrating Christmas. Like father
McCann said “We are still celebrating Christmas after it is over, it’s like it
just started.” So Christmas is not just one day of the year, it can be
celebrated all through out the year, because you can spread holiday cheer and
kindness all year around.
