Some of the players say that there are pro’s and con’s about playing 8th grade basketball. The pro’s so far, this year, are that they have won every game except one, and they have a very good coach. The con’s are, that some people do not get the playing time they deserve and practices aren’t the easiest but there not supposed to be. They say they love the game and its fun to play and it also gives them a chance to hang out with their friends which are also their teammates.

The 8th grade teams warms up for their game.         Cali shows her school spirit and cheers the boys on.

After a long half the boys get back into the game.                    The boys hurry up and get back to play defense

Team work is a key factor in playing basketball, if everyone doesn’t get along then they cannot work together as one. At practices you learn to play defense, offense, pressing (guarding the team before half court), out of bounds plays, and press-breakers. Most plays have names or numbers attached to them and are practiced over and over until players get them right. When all of these are achieved that’s when you know you have a good team. It takes hard work, dedication, and skill to be a basketball player, which is what all of the eight grade basketball players possess
