1st Grade Teams
Well, football is over and
now it is basketball season, and these little ones are ready to shoot some
hoops. The Instructional basketball is
ready to start. The Instructional
basketball program starts in the beginning of January and lasts for about 8 or
9 weeks. This program teaches the little
ones the fundamentals of the American game, basketball. It teaches them how to dribble, pass, shoot
and everything they need to know about to play a good game of basketball. The 1st and 2nd graders
are capable of signing up for the Instructional basketball program. The sign ups were in last September and the
program is almost ready to get going.
These kids are truly excited to start the program and to learn how to
play.
The
kids who play in the program are divided into teams, and they come every
Saturday to play a game against the other teams who play. Any 8th graders who are interested
in being a referee can contact Mr. Pitman and let him know that you want to do
it, and you can receive Confirmation hours for doing so. The kids in the 1st and 2nd
grade who are going to play, are in the pictures
above. A lot of these kids love to come
and play because they get to be with their friends, even on the weekend.
In
the program the kids play around 8 to 9 games for the season. The kids all really enjoy this program, and
they are learning at the same time too.
Any parents, uncles, aunts, grandparents, siblings, ext. are welcome to
come to the games and cheer on their little one as they play. Wish the little ones luck while playing in
their season here at Immaculate Heart of Mary.
