Welcome to the third grade website where you will learn all about the third grade up to their present day activities.  The third grade was very excited when they were able to be interviewed to be on a website.

These teachers have been loved by all the kids in their classes.  Click here to see Mrs. Young.  Mrs. Young has taught hear at IHM for six years and hopes to have many more fine years at I.H.M.

The third grade is learning action verbs in English, about the government in Social Studies, the Passover in Religion, and addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in math.  They are reading “Little House in the Big Woods”, by Laura Wilder and “Mr. Poppers Penguins”, by Richard and Florence Atwater. The third grade is also reading about volcanoes in Science.  The third graders love studying how the volcanoes work.  Click here to see Mrs. Young’s class as they read a book in class after a spelling test.

The third grade recently had a fire safety field trip where they had a fire and smoke simulation.  This simulation taught the kids how low they have to stay in order to be out of the smoke.  This also showed the kids how dangerous a fire could really be.

On 5/10/04 Jen N. came in for senior experience.  She sits in and watches the class for the rest of the year.  This is a program where you get out of high school a month early to see if she would consider becoming a teacher.
