On August 22, 2004 the incoming kindergarteners were able to come in and get a first glimpse of their classrooms and meet their teachers. On the week of August 25th  the kindergarteners started with only a half day of school so they could get into the swing of things and not be overwhelmed their first week. Their first official full day of school came on September 2nd. They walked into school and into their own special hall where they sit and wait for the first bell to ring. Then they walked into their classroom and sat in their own marked seats, as official students of I.H.M.

In October, they were taught about Fire Safety and how to keep safe when a fire comes. Then the very next day, Mrs. Clark from Taylor Memorial Library came in and read to the kindergarteners and talked to them about the Cuyahoga Falls Library.

On the 22nd , the kindergarteners got to write in their journals for the first time which was very special because no one else in the school does that. Every month they write in their journals and tell the parent helpers a story or and idea about the topic of the month.

On the 18th of November, the Kindergarten had a Mayflower experience where they learned about the pilgrims and their ship, the Mayflower, in honor on Thanksgiving. The very next day they had journal writing again, and on the 25th they sang songs for the grandparents and special friends that came for Grandparents Day.

December was a pretty busy month for Kindergarten. The first week in December was the kindergarteners first week of roller skating, which they continued for the rest of the month. On the 12th, Mrs. Clark came in again to read a story to the kindergarten, and the kindergarten was excited to have two visits, one from Father McCann, and another from Deacon Seal. They came and read Christmas stories to both classes and in return, both priests received a birthday blessing from the Kindergarten.

January was a slower month than usual for Kindergarten, but it was still filled with fun and learning. On the 21st, they wrote in their journals again and from January 25th to the 30th, they went through all of the fun activities of Catholic School’s week. And then, on the 30th, they got to participate in an I.H.M. pep rally.

In February, the Kindergarteners celebrated their 100th day of school, where they learned how to tie their shoes, counting up to 100, learning about money, and of course, reading. They also got to do different kinds of activities that involve the number 100. On the 11th, Mrs. Brunn came in to talk to the class about the Life Banc program, which involves organ donations and transplants for people who are sick and in need of them. On the 18th, they wrote in their journals, and on the 20th, Mrs. Clark came in and read a story to them.

On March 2nd, the Kindergarteners, along with their sixth grade buddies, celebrated Dr. Seuss’ 100th Birthday. The sixth graders read to the kindergarten and, if they could, the kindergarteners read some of the books back to the sixth grade. On the 12th, Mrs. Clark from the Cuyahoga Falls Library came in again and read to the kindergarteners. On the 24th, they wrote in their journals for the 7th time.

On the 1st and 2nd of April, the kindergarteners didn’t have school because of kindergarten screening for next years’ class. On April 7th, they had Fire Safety on the 28th Mrs. Clark came in again, and they wrote in their journals “About Mom.”

May was a busy month for the Kindergarteners. On the 3rd,  they had a speaker come in a talk to them about Cub Scouts. The Kindergarten’s mass was on the 7th, and then on the 11th, they went to Lake Farm Park. And on the 14th, Mrs. Clark came in for the last time, and on the 19th, they wrote in their journals.
