These
are the 5th grade teachers: Miss Jaroszewski and Mrs. Staller. They both love teaching 5th grade.
Miss Jaroszewski started teaching the 3rd grade. She said, “I wanted to teach 3rd
grade but I had to do what was best, so I moved up to 5th grade and
now I love it.”

In 5th grade one reading
class is just finishing reading the novel The Witch of Blackbird Pond
by: Elizabeth George Speare. In the top right corner is what the 5th
graders made. They are the characters of the novel. Now they are reading the
novel The House of Dies Drear by: Howard E. Rollins Jr. After
they read that they will be watching the movie. The 5th graders said that like The
House of Dies Drier better. In the other reading class they are reading The
Island of Blue Dolphins by: Scott O’ Dell.
In religion the 5th graders 0are learning
about the vocations. In the top left corner are some examples of the
cross that they made. The 5th grade is also learning calligraphy.
Mrs. B taught them that. The 5th
graders said that they loved calligraphy. They said that they loved doing it,
even though it was hard at first it got easier when time went on now all of
they want to do is write calligraphy all the time. In Math one of the classes
are learning how to do cross multiplication. In the other math class is
learning fractions. In Social Studies they are doing a president report. Each
of the students have to pick a president and write a
report on it. Then in computer they will do a power point presentation on their
president. In English they are learning adjectives. In science they are
learning about the body parts. In gym they will be running the mile run
outside. In Spanish they will be learning about the classroom objects like a
flag (la bandera), a ruler (el reloj),
or a pencil (el lapiz). In music they will be learning a new song to sing in
front of the church congregation. And in art they are studying the painting
“Starry Night” by Vincent Van Gogh.
