Article: Art

Art is one of the main
subjects at Immaculate Heart of Mary. Grades participating in art are K through
8 grades. Art has been a lot of the
student’s favorite subject this year.
This site includes pictures of art the
students have been working on. There is also a description of the art the
students have been working on.
Mrs. Comeriato
is recently the art teacher at Immaculate Heart of Mary. This is Mrs. Comeriato’s second year teaching art at Immaculate Heart of
Mary. Click below to see a picture of Mrs. Comeriato.

Grades 1 through 8 have recently been
working on very interesting art projects. Here are the grades and a description
on what they have been working on.
First grade has been working on abstract drawings.
Second grade is working on torn paper snow scenes.
Fourth grade has been working on Andy Warhol- pop artist-
self portraits.
Fifth grade is working on drawing dragons using mixed
media watercolors.
Sixth grade is drawing still life pictures.
The 8th grade has
recently finished self portraits. In class, the 8th grade students
took a mirror and looked at their selves while drawing their self portrait.
These self portraits were then hung in the hallway on the main floor.
Here are some of the 8th grade
self portraits.
The 8th grade has
also begun string art. They have been working on this string art for about two
weeks. There are four different kinds of the string art; there is an oval
design, circle design, triangle design, and a rectangular design. The students
got to pick of board of their choice out of the shapes they preferred. A needle
and the color string of their choice was then taken and strung through the
board creating an awesome design!
